My Maid Invests in the Stock Market…and Why You Should, Too!
by Bo Sanchez
This was not part of my 12 Books to Read in 2012 but just like the recent book I read about Personal Finance, it drew my interest, too. It’s short anyway, and I manage to complete it in one seating. I downloaded the ebook from citiseconline.com for free. Yey, thanks!
For 3 years, I’m religiously investing a portion of my earnings to mutual funds alongside a life insurance that I think I need, but I don’t really want to use.
I’ve open up a time deposit account, too. And also put my little other savings to different money machines. This is the least I can do to let my hard-earned money grow while I still don’t have time to start my own business.
Last month, I finally had the time to visit the Citisec Online office and open a personal account. I’ve been planning to invest in stocks for some time now. I initially thought it was only open to ‘bigtime’ people who can invest in a month what I earn in a year. Thank goodness, it doesn’t work that way.
I bought shares of some well known companies that have already made it through thick and thin, for years. Now, I’m a stockholder of Ayala Land, Jollibee, and BPI. How cool is that, eh?

Kidding aside, this book tells just that. It points out that even a “maid” or anyone without too much income can save even two thousand pesos a month and invest them on stocks through online traders like CitisecOnline. It’s an easy read and it’s a good beginning source book to learn about investing in stock market. Say goodbye to financial jargons that an average Pinoy would not understand because this book is written for you. Just like what the author said, “If my maids can understand me, then anyone can understand me.”
See you soon fellow, millionaire.
