If blessings came in the form of rain, I’d definitely drown.

Yeah, looking back at how my life turned out in 2011, I can’t help but think that I am His favorite. Not only did He give me what I needed, He gave me more than what I hoped to have. There were hurdles along the way, yes, but He has been faithful. He held my hand and led my heart.

In 2011, we moved to our own house.
Yes, for 24 years, my mother and I have been renting our shelter and we’ve moved and lived to 8 different houses already. So it’s a major feat that our 9th move is to a place we now call our own. :)

In 2011, I was deployed to work on a new project.
I was afraid at first. I didn’t want to move out of my comfort zone, or away from the people (and friends) I’m already used working with. But I knew something was wrong and I had to do something about it. Now, I feel so much better working with people who recognizes and appreciates the work that I do. It drives me to give more every day.

In 2011, I got promoted.
Hep Hep Hooray! I thought being moved to work with a better support group is more than enough, but the Lord is indeed generous. He even rewarded my hard work. :)

In 2011, I found Love.
A-huh. Love equals boyfriend equals Gerald. I remember last year I told myself I’d fall in love again in 2011. And I did. Hah! He was not the prince charming I dreamed about but he turned out to be someone better… the person I longed, needed and prayed for. God really does His best work in the waiting. ;)

In 2011, I’ve been to Singapore.
As quoted from one of my posts, “Singapore’s like a dream to me, not because I’ve wished for a long-time to be there, but because, the city’s image makes it like a trance – those kinds of things you just see in fictional movies. Now, Singapore isn’t a dream anymore… it’s real.” Dreams come true!

In 2011, I traveled Mindanao.
I’ve been constantly exploring the beauty of the Philippines since 2008, from Luzon, to Visayas, and now I’ve reached as far as Mindanao. Being able to visit the provinces of Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro, Camiguin and Davao for this year alone, is such a huge accomplishment to me. 2011 have become my year of bold and daring adventures because of the first-time experiences I had in this places.

In 2011, I got active in blogging again.
This blog’s like a baby to me. It is where I write and share the beautiful blessings I receive in my life so that when I grow old and forgetful I’d be able to come back in time through reading this. Earlier last year, I hardly write anything in a month because of too many things I needed to do. But The Universe worked its way for me to be able to balance everything. Now, I get to post more than 10 in a month. That’s lucky enough for a girl, who has a regular day job, travels quite often, has dreams to fulfill, a bucket list to complete, and a bunch of familial and social responsibilities to attend to. Aja!

In 2011, I made a major purchase.
I finally saved enough to get a new laptop to replace my 3-year old 10” net book. I’ve thought about this decision for almost a year and I feel deserving because I worked hard for it. Now, I have bigger storage for my files, bigger screen size for photo editing and programming, and faster processor to keep up with all the applications I’m using at one time.

In 2011, I turned 25.
There is nothing better than another year of lovely days filled with hope, opportunities and promises of the future, right? Because whether we’re standing still or moving fast, what doesn’t change is that life’s a miracle. ;)

In 2011, I ventured in stocks investment.
So who says that I only splurge money? I may look that I spend too much on traveling and other stuffs, but no, I save a lot, too. I grew up not having much, completed education in public schools and through scholarships so I know so well the value of my hard-earned money and I look for ways on how it’d work for me. Soon, I’ll be a millionaire. I claim it. :P

These were the Top 10 Big Blessings of my life this past year …and I could think of a thousand more! :)

Dear Lord, thank You for supplying me everything I needed for me to be able to give and sympathize with others. Thank You because I am certain that I could not have done all of those without You. I still find it hard to understand how undeserving I am but You keep filling my bucket to the top.

I Thank and Love You with all of me. More blessings to come in 2012!

About melaidoodles

"My heart loves a roller coaster ride. I cry. I laugh. I fall in love. Sometimes, cautiously. Oftentimes, recklessly. My mind is on a constant marathon. Running. Running away. Changing pace. Turning around. But never stopping. My dreams keep on flying. I may not reach the sky, but I will never ever take a dive. My hands touch other people’s lives. Constantly. As if that is the reason for my being. But most of all, I am wonderful, because I am both steel and cotton candy and everything in between.."
